The Beauty of Everyday Things
2020
This project stemmed from my desire to better understand what makes people develop emotional attachment to objects. I believe designing objects that people can form strong connections to is a key part of changing consumer culture. This range of vessels incorporates movement specific to the tasks of each piece, allowing for increased user engagement and a more artful experience to be had. Incorporation of this interface design between vessel and saucer allows for expanded functionality beyond the roles of traditional tableware.
Throughout this process I used:
- Primary research
- Secondary research
- CAD modelling
- Full scale prototyping
- Prototyping in true materiality
